When I was about 6 years old, I saw the most terrifying movie of my life: "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial."

I watched it with some cousins at my aunt and uncle’s house, and I had nightmares for weeks. Ever since then, I’ve stayed away from that ugly little spud and his movie.

It's not that I'm afraid of E.T. I'd describe it more like an immediate and instinctive disgust, like that moment when you realize you've stepped in dog poop.

Every now and then, something E.T. related pops up, much to my family’s delight at my expense.

So I was at Bibles For Missions in Orange City the other day when I spot this E.T. card game for $2. I hold a grudge against E.T., sure, but I also have a sense of humor, so it came home with me.

To summarize the rules, it’s a bluff game with a deck of 35 or so cards. The idea is for the players to collect the four adventure cards (SHHH, OUCH, PHONE HOME and STAY) to win, while using the FLY card to escape the DANGER card.

I shared this find on the popular Facebook page "Weird Secondhand Finds That Just Need To Be Shared," and it turns out I'm far from the only child who was traumatized by the glowing space potato, with hundreds of people sharing their mutual dislike.
