I’m not a handyman by any means.
However, on Sunday, Nov. 3, I put together a baby crib for the first time ever.
The building process wasn’t easy. It was actually quite frustrating, but I got it done — somehow.
My wife, Christina, helped me by interpreting the visual instructions that accompanied the crib in its package.
With that project completed, our home’s baby room is now finished and ready for whenever our daughter arrives.
As of this writing, our little girl has not arrived yet, but she’ll be here soon. Christina’s due date is Wednesday, Nov. 20.
With my wife and I sitting in “baby limbo,” as she likes to call it, I’ve been distracting myself primarily with hanging out with her and our friend Ty Rushing, working and watching football.
At the college level, the 4-5 Nebraska Cornhuskers have greatly disappointed me so far this season by falling well short of expectations.
I still believe Scott Frost is the right man for the job to turn around my favorite college football team.
However, it’s going to take the Nebraska alum longer than Husker fans expect, so patience will be needed.
The 6-4 Kansas City Chiefs are having a pretty good season, though it could be so much better for my favorite pro football team.
Each of Kansas City’s four losses have been by seven points or fewer, so it’s not like the Chiefs have been blown out at all.
At least Kansas City has a healthy Patrick Mahomes back at quarterback and still leads the AFC West.
While I keep yelling at the TV every weekend while watching football at home, I will eventually have to watch my volume.
That’s because Christina and I will soon bring a baby home — and the next chapter of our life will begin, though I still won’t be a handyman.
