LE MARS — As part of the Ice Cream Days festivities, the Le Mars Municipal Band will present its first concert of the summer on Wednesday, June 14, at 7:30 p.m. at Foster Park. Admission is free. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets.

DES MOINES — In a warning issued Friday afternoon, June 1, downstream users of Perry Creek west of Hinton in Plymouth County were advised to avoid contact with the water, including recreation, and water for livestock after a manure discharge from a 3,000-head cattle facility flowed into the creek.

ORANGE CITY — MMCRU dropped a pair of War Eagle Conference games at Unity Christian on Thursday.

KINGSLEY — The Class 1A No. 2 ranked Kingsley-Pierson baseball team blasted Western Valley Conference foe West Monona 18-2 in four innings on Wednesday. 

The Remsen St. Mary’s baseball and softball teams won games by run-rule margins in action Tuesday and Wednesday.

KINGSLEY — Despite getting a 10-3 win, Kingsley-Pierson Head Coach Taylor Doeschot wasn’t the most upbeat after Tuesday’s win over MMCRU. The leader of the Class 1A No. 2 ranked Panthers felt his team should have played better.

BOONE — The Class 1A Coed State Golf tournament was held Tuesday at Cedar Pointe Golf Course. One of the two pairs of golfers from Kingsley-Pierson placed in the top 10 of the meet.

KINGSLEY — The Kingsley-Pierson softball team has been pretty good at scoring runs this season. The Panthers entered Tuesday’s non-conference game with MMCRU having scored in double digits in five of their games. The team made it a sixth with an 11-5 win over the Royals.
