Sioux Center Community Foundation grant winners

Ten organizations received funds from the Generations Endowment Fund. SIOUX CENTER—The Sioux Center Community Foundation awarded 10 grants totaling $32,000 on May 3 at the Sioux Center City Council chambers.

The Generations Endowment Fund was created by the Sioux Center Community Foundation Board in 2016 to provide local citizens and businesses a way to make tax-deductible donations to a perpetual financial resource for Sioux Center nonprofits and charities.

Throughout the past six years, the Generations Fund has awarded more than $168,000 to local nonprofit organizations and agencies for projects benefiting the Sioux Center community.

The 10 grant recipients for 2023 are:

  • $5,000 to Sioux Center Christian School to accessible playground equipment.
  • $5,000 to New Life Church for its Rising Arrows Day Camp.
  • $4,000 to Sioux Center Wreaths Across America for wreath headstone hangers.
  • $3,500 to Sioux Center Health for physical therapy equipment at the American State Bank Sports Complex.
  • $3,000 to Sioux Center Music Boosters for show choir lighting equipment.
  • $3,000 to Sioux Center Parks Department for dog park amenities.
  • $2,500 to Promise Community Health Center for a dental exam chair.
  • $2,500 to Habitat for Humanity for its Sioux Center Habitat home.
  • $2,000 to JOYnd Together for books and curriculum for its summer program.
  • $1,500 to HOME Ministries for its library relocation project.
