SIOUX CENTER—The Sioux Center City Council learned a Hull business is looking to buy a different property in Sioux Center.
The council at its Oct. 11 meeting set a public hearing for its Oct. 27 meeting regarding vacating a utility easement to make this business move possible.
Economic development director Dennis Dokter said equipment dealer New Tech is looking to purchase the former Global Equipment property at 3764 Highway 75, on the north end of Sioux Center. The business is requesting the council consider vacating a utility easement between that property and the lot to the west in Highway Commercial Park, second addition, to allow New Tech to add onto an existing facility.
Dokter said utility providers are aware and can reroute utilities from this easement.
Headquartered in Hull, New Tech has locations in Spencer, Storm Lake and Sioux Falls, SD. The business provides new and rentals of material handling and construction equipment.
