To The REVIEW:
On Sunday morning, Oct. 11, I purchased a N’West Iowa REVIEW dated Oct. 10. I started perusing through the pages and on page A5 began reading the article concerning the “Paper Caper Perpetrator.”
Although amusing to say the least, it was also very sad to see a supposedly influential individual resort to this kind of behavior to, in his mind, gain the upper hand.
It reminded my wife and me of an episode of “The Andy Griffith Show” where Opie and his friends had tried their hand in publishing a newspaper. Having been encouraged by his dad, Andy and Barney, to write stories that the readers would find interesting, they found this to be a big mistake. Andy, Barney and Aunt Bee ended up feeling the need to go out in the dark scrounging through the trash in the town dump to retrieve the papers that had been discarded in a dumpster earlier in the day, in an effort to try to undo the damage.
All we can say is the “Paper Caper Perpetrator” avoided the necessity of doing that.
