Clay County Fair Speedway kicks off racing season
For the second year in a row racing will be a weekly affair at Clay County Fair Speedway in Spencer. Friday night will be race night through Aug. 8 and the first cars took to the 3/8 mile dirt track May 6.
Nearly 70 cars raced in five classes including Sport Compacts, Hobby Stocks, SportMods, Stock Cars and Modifieds.
In the pit, drivers and their crews tinkered and prepped their vehicles for race time.
With concessions in full swing, family, friends and spectators made their way to their seats. They cheered on their favorite drivers over the course of a couple hours as the sun set on the Grandstand and the sounds of revving engines filled the air.
