They’re great when you’re on the go, when you don’t have time for breakfast or when you crave something sweet. Best of all, these tasty treats won’t derail your healthy eating plan with a mega dose of refined sugar. Once you find winning flavor combinations, your family may never ask for chocolate chip cookies again. (Or not.)


INGREDIENTS

1 cup oatmeal, ground fine

1/2 cup protein powder

2 tablespoons cocoa

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 ripe banana, mashed

1/4 cup cold espresso

1/4 cup almond butter

2 tablespoons maple syrup

Finely chopped almonds to roll in


INSTRUCTIONS

Combine dry ingredients. Mix the banana with espresso, almond butter and maple syrup. Add wet ingredients to dry and stir to combine. Scoop into 18-24 portions. Chill slightly in refrigerator, then roll with hands to smooth. Roll balls in finely chopped almonds if desired. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
