ROCK VALLEY—Minnie Wallenburg, 82, Rock Valley, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019, at Whispering Heights in Rock Valley. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, at United Reformed Church in Rock Valley, with the Rev. Joel Vander Kooi officiating. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley. Visitation with family present will be 3-5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 15, at Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Minnie Wallenburg was born March 17, 1937, in Stickney, SD, the daughter of Lambert and Hattie (Bosch) Ymker. Minnie was united in marriage to A. Richard Wallenburg on Sept. 30, 1955, in Rock Valley. Together they made their home in Rock Valley.
Minnie had various jobs including being a bus driver for Rock Valley Community School and working many years at Walmart. Minnie and Rich enjoyed traveling to California and the Black Hills. Minnie enjoyed baking, walking, crocheting and having coffee with family and friends. Her family was very important to her.
Minnie is survived by her five children, Rhonda (Wes) Pollema of Rock Valley, Ron Wallenburg of Hawarden, IA, Kathy (Ponch) Hulstein of Rock Valley, Brad (Donna) Wallenburg of Hull, IA, and Shar (Lyle) Van Holland of Rock Valley; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Bertha Van De Vendel of Brandon, SD; sisters-in-law, Bernice Ymker of Sioux Falls, SD, Lucy Ymker and Chris Kersbergen both of Rock Valley; and brother-in-law, Al Van Beek of Artesia, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lambert and Hattie; husband, Rich; infant brother, Alfred John; brothers, John, Elmer and Fred Ymker; brother-in-law, Cornie Van De Vendel; and sister-in-law, Joanne Ymker.
