BOYDEN—Lee Roland Moret, age 85, of Boyden, passed away on Friday, Nov. 29, 2019, at his home in Boyden.
His memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the United Presbyterian Church in Boyden, with the Rev. Andrew Hilla officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in the Sheridan Township Cemetery in Boyden, Iowa.
Visitation with the family present will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the United Presbyterian Church in Boyden.
Arrangements were entrusted with the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Boyden.

Lee Roland Moret, the son of Peter L. and Jacoba “Coba” (Kamminga) Moret, was born Nov. 17, 1934, in Boyden, Iowa. He was born and raised in Boyden, Iowa, graduated from Boyden High School in 1953, graduated from Iowa State University in Ames in 1957 and received a commission in the United States Army Reserves. On March 23, 1958, he was united in marriage to JoAnn Clark in Des Moines, Iowa. The young couple made their home on the Moret family farm near Boyden. Lee and JoAnn moved off of the farm and into Boyden, retiring in 1996. Lee passed away on Nov. 29, 2019, at his home in Boyden, reaching the age of 85 years and 12 days.
Lee was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Boyden, serving on many committees and boards and enjoyed singing in the choir. He also served on the Boyden-Hull School Board from 1966-77 and the AEA 4 board for six years and was a member of the Boyden Kiwanis Club. Lee and Jo enjoyed many winters in Yuma, Arizona, together with their winter friends. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family, golfing, tennis, canoeing the boundary waters, bowling, horseshoes, working crossword puzzles, and playing cards and pool with his friends.
He leaves his wife of 62 years, JoAnn of Boyden; children Karen (Randy) Bentsen of Atlantic, IA; Clark (Debra) Moret of Boyden, IA; Beth (Dwight) Sipma of Sheldon, IA, and Peter (Kim) Moret of Eldersburg, MD; 14 grandchildren, Audra Jooste, John (Laura) Bentsen, Brandon (Kari) Moret; Heather (Kris) Rozeboom, Nathan (Paige) Moret; Kylie, Benjamin and Tyler Sipma, Adam, Kathryn and Jacob Moret; 14 great-grandchildren; two brother in-laws, Lyman (Rae Jean) Clark and Frank Clark; and other relatives and many friends.
Lee was proceeded in death by his parents.
