HOLSTEIN—Harold “Keith” Virgil, age 73, of Holstein, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, at his home of Holstein.
A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein, with Pastor Ken Miller officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein.

Harold Keith Virgil was born Feb. 15, 1946, in Primghar, Iowa, to Harold and Pearl (Mattice) Virgil. He was a graduate of Sutherland High School in 1964. Following high school he joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.
Keith was united in marriage to Lynne Johnson. To this union three children were born, Corey, Staci and Brandon. The couple later divorced.
Keith owned the K + L Locker in Aurelia for over 20 years and was a master butcher.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing with tractors and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Keith was a devout member of the Fellowship of AA and loved to help others. Keith loved his family, his God and his country.
Keith is survived by his children, Staci (Aaron) Hember, Brandon (Abby) Virgil and Corey Virgil; grandchildren, Tyler Lichtenberg, Kaley Hember, Parker Virgil, Presley Virgil and Paige Virgil; brothers, Robert (Ila) Virgil, Merle (Kathy) Virgil, Chuck (Shirley) Virgil, David (Lora) Virgil and Lyle (Carol) Virgil and many people he touched through the Fellowship of AA.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Pearl Virgil.
