HULL—Ellen Gritters, 98, Hull, formerly of Sioux Center, died Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.
There will be a private family graveside service Friday, March 27, at Hope Cemetery in Hull. The Rev. Carl Klompien will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Ellen was born July 6, 1921, in Perkins, the daughter of John Egbert and Bessie (Vander Berg) Gritters. She was raised on her family’s farm and attended the Sheridan #4 Country School.
In her early twenties, she moved to Sioux Center, where she worked for the Sieperda’s and at the Co-op, processing chickens. She worked for 13 years grading eggs, and 17 years working at Peter’s Grocery until they closed. She then began working at the Farm and Home Center in Sioux Center until she retired.
Ellen was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. She enjoyed gardening and making pigs in the blanket for Christian education fundraising.
In July 2018, she became a resident at the Pleasant Acres Care Center.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Geri Gritters, of Hull; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Wesselink; and a brother, John E. Gritters.
