HAWARDEN—A 23-year-old Sioux City woman was arrested about 2 a.m. Friday, July 22, in Hawarden on a charge of first-offense simulated public intoxication.
The arrest of Kehona Rhiannon Medina stemmed from a report of a family disturbance at 1004 10th St. in Hawarden, according to the Hawarden Police Department.
Medina was found walking around in circles on public property on the 1000 block of 10th Street while acting and speaking erratically and appearing to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
She voluntarily accompanied a police officer to Hawarden Regional Healthcare for an evaluation but was uncooperative with hospital staff other than to allow her vitals to be checked, according to the incident report.
Medina pleaded guilty to the charge the same day in Sioux County District Court in Orange City and was ordered to pay a $105 fine, a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court-related costs.
