SIBLEY—A 38-year-old Worthington, MN, woman found herself back in jail on new charges only minutes after she was released about 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 7.

Kristen Marie Schaffer had just been released from the Osceola County Jail in Sibley when she asked a deputy if he would get her medications from her vehicle at the impound lot.

The deputy opened the door of the 1996 Dodge Caravan and saw a credit card belonging to another woman. The credit card had been stolen out of the other’s woman’s vehicle and used multiple times in Sibley, Harris and Ocheyedan for purchases totaling $451.35, according to court documents.

The deputy also observed a hard and soft gun cases, with having 12-gauge shotgun inside.

Also inside the vehicle was a small bag of methamphetamine and a pipe to ingest marijuana.

Schaffer was arrested on two charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, third-degree burglary, unauthorized use of a credit card, fourth-degree theft, fifth-degree theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
