ROCK RAPIDS—A 59-year-old Rock Rapids woman was arrested about 2:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, on charges of assaulting a peace officer, interference with official acts, domestic abuse assault and fifth-degree criminal mischief.
The arrest of Catherine Louise Peterson stemmed from an investigation of a domestic situation at 805 First Ave. E. Lot 25 in Rock Rapids where she and her mother live, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
Peterson allegedly broke a screen window.
She also kicked her mother in the side of the leg during the investigation, according to court documents.
Peterson continued to interfere with the investigation, coming into the room where deputies were interviewing another person. She sat down and began yelling at that person.
A deputy took her by the arm and escorted her to a room where she had been packing clothes to stay elsewhere when she turned around and struck the deputy in the shoulder/chest area, breaking her glasses she had in her hand, according to court documents.
