SHELDON—A 27-year-old Orange City woman was arrested about 8:40 p.m. Thursday, July 8, on a charge of public intoxication.

The arrest of Samantha Dorothy Edwards stemmed from a report about an intoxicated female at the Sheldon Motel, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

Two motel residents told the investigating deputy that Edwards chased them around the parking lot and another resident said she came into his room to use the bathroom.

Edwards then walked out of the third resident’s room.

She had bloodshot, watery eyes; was incoherent at times and had the odor of an alcoholic beverage.

Edwards was transported to the Sioux County Jail in Orange City.

She displayed a range of emotions — from angry to sad and crying — during the drive, according to the report.
