SHELDON—A 27-year-old Sheldon woman was arrested about 4 p.m. Friday, April 30, on charges of public intoxication, interference with official acts and assault on persons in certain occupations.

The arrest of Samantha Dorothy Edwards stemmed from her calling 911 regarding a family dispute, according to the Sheldon Police Department.

She was outside the former Midwest Global Motel at 1111 S. Second Ave. still arguing with another individual when authorities arrived.

Edwards was unsteady on her feet, was slurring her speech, had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and was uncooperative, according to the incident report.

She was placed under arrest but resisted officers by pushing and pulling away. She then kicked and tried to bite one of the officers, according to the incident report.

Edwards had to be pushed into the patrol car.
