SHELDON—Two 24-year-old Sheldon men were arrested Saturday evening, June 27, on charges of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness, disorderly conduct — fighting or violent behavior and public intoxication.
The arrests of Eduardo Belsai Juerez-Escobar and Jacob Renee Prado stemmed from incidents near a residence on the 1300 block of Third Avenue, according to the Sheldon Police Department.
Juerez-Escobar allegedly became upset with a resident of the home and punched him in the face four or five times, causing a cut about the man’s face, about 8:20 p.m.
He also allegedly hit and kicked the passenger’s side of a female’s car, leaving scratches and scuffs in the paint. Damage was estimated at about $500. He was further charged for fifth-degree criminal mischief for damaging the vehicle.
Juerez-Escobar stated he was intoxicated. He was slurring his words, had difficulty maintaining his balance and had the odor of an alcoholic beverage.
A no contact order was issued against Juerez-Escobar with the man and woman.
Prado allegedly punched another male in the face, causing a fat lip and bleeding, about 9:05 p.m.
He slurred his words, had an inability to answer questions and had difficulty maintaining his balance.
A no contact order was issued against Prado with the man.
