SANBORN—Two people were arrested about 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, near Sanborn on felony drug charges.
The arrests of 44-year-old Eric John Schwager of Sheldon and 36-year-old Debra Lynn Schuknecht Sanborn stemmed from a report that Schuknecht, who was wanted on an O’Brien County warrant, was going to be at a rural Sanborn residence and had been seen traveling in a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500, according to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy located the vehicle on Roosevelt Avenue south of Sanborn and found Schwager inside it and Schuknecht near the vehicle.
Schuknecht was wanted on warrants for failure to appear in a case in which she was charged with possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine — third or subsequent offense and gathering where controlled substances are used.
A plastic bag containing a small amount of methamphetamine, another plastic bag containing meth residue and multiple hypodermic needles were found in Schuknecht’s backpack.
She was charged with possession of a controlled substance — meth — third or subsequent offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Schuknecht said Schwager had a container with meth in it and the container was found inside the vehicle, according to the incident report.

A search warrant was obtained for Schwager’s residence he rents at 610 Pleasant Drive in Sheldon at about 5:35 p.m. that day. A syringe contained meth was found in a drawer.
Schwager then was charged with a second count of possession of a controlled substance — meth — third or subsequent offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
