SIOUX CENTER—Two people were injured in a collision about 11:35 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at the intersection of Highway 75 and 420th Street just south of Sioux Center.
Fifty-seven-year-old Charles Wayne Hoefling of Sioux City was driving north on the highway when he attempted to turn left onto 420th and his 2000 Sterling straight truck collided with a southbound 2017 Ford Fusion driven by 21-year-old Halie Evonne Rus of Sioux Center, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
Rus and a 14-year-old passenger reported minor injuries and sought medical attention on their own.
Hoefling, who did not report any injuries, was cited for failure to yield when making a left turn.
Both vehicles received an estimated $15,000 damage.
