SIOUX CENTER—Two people received minor injuries in a two-vehicle collision about 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the intersection of 400th Street and Goldfinch Avenue, two miles west of Sioux Center.
Sixty-five-year-old Randall Dean Tietgen of Sioux Center was driving south on Goldfinch when he pulled out from a stop sign and his 2017 Chevrolet Silverado collided with a westbound 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 19-year-old Nerik Alan Montes-Topete of Hawarden, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
The two drivers reported minor injuries but sought medical treatment on their own.
Tietgen was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. His vehicle received an estimated $9,000 damage.
Montes-Topete was cited for failure to have motor vehicle accident liability insurance. His vehicle received an estimated $3,000 damage.
