SIOUX CENTER—Two people received minor injuries in a collision about 2:35 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at the intersection of Garfield Avenue and 400th Street, two miles west of Sioux Center.
Sixteen-year-old Jacob Dragstra of Sioux Center was driving south on Garfield when he attempted to turn left onto 400th and his 2006 Ford F-250 pickup struck a westbound 1996 Ford Mustang, which was stopped at the stop sign, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
Cindy Sue Van Den Hul, 49, Sioux Center, the driver of the Mustang, and a passenger were transported by private vehicle to Sioux Center Health.
Dragstra, who did not report any injuries, was cited for failure to yield when making a left turn.
The Van Den Hul vehicle received an estimated $7,000 damage. The Dragstra vehicle received an estimated $5,000 damage.
