ROCK RAPIDS—Two people face charges following a traffic stop about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, in the 200 block of South Union Street in Rock Rapids.
During the stop of the 2001 Ford Explorer, the deputy detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver, Cole Ray Zimbelman, 27, Rock Rapids, admitted to having smoked marijuana in the vehicle earlier in the day.
A pill bottle with marijuana was found inside the vehicle.
Cole Zimbelman and his passenger, Cody Allen Zimbelman, 29, Rock Rapids, both claimed ownership of the bottle.
Cole Zimbelman was cited for driving while his license is suspended and possession of a controlled substance.
Cody Zimbelman was cited for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a marijuana pipe was found inside of his shoe.
