LARCHWOOD—Two people were arrested about 9:25 a.m. Monday, July 19, following a traffic stop near Larchwood.
The arrests of 43-year-old Kristina Marie Larocque of Sioux Falls, SD, and 30-year-old Nicholas Jared Garza stemmed from the stop of a 1998 Ford Taurus being driven by Larocque on Highway 9 about a mile west of Larchwood, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
Larocque had bloodshot, watery eyes; slurred speech; impaired balance and the odor of an alcoholic beverage and failed preliminary sobriety tests, according to the incident report.
She admitted she had been drinking the previous night and did not know where she was at, according to the incident report.
A glass pipe was found under the driver’s seat and another was found on Garza.
Larocque was charged with third-offense operating while under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and no valid driver’s license.
Garza was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to maintain or use a safety belts.
