ALTON—Three people were cited for hunting violations about 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, in Sioux County.

While patrolling on 440th Street, one mile north of Alton, a deputy discovered a 2000 Buick Regal parked in the middle of the roadway and that the occupants were using spotlights to shoot raccoons from the roadway, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.

Eighteen-year-old Richard William Roder of Remsen and two male juveniles of LeMars were charged with hunting without a license and hunting by artificial lights.
