Sheldon city manager Sam Kooiker said he’s been in contact with the organizers, who are not affiliated without outside groups, but who were inspired to hold the event here in Sheldon after attending the March for Justice for George Floyd event in Spencer on June 4.
The purpose of the event is to protest police brutality against people of color, according to the organizers.
Kooiker noted this event is intended to be peaceful.
“Law enforcement will be on hand to make sure everyone has a safe experience,” Kooiker said.
