SIBLEY—A 22-year-old Spirit Lake woman was arrested about 9 a.m. Monday, July 19, in Sibley on charges of second-offense operating while under the influence, second-offense possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine, operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent, and driving while her license was denied, suspended, canceled or revoked.
The arrest of Chloey Lorraine Baldwin stemmed from the stop of a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse at Jackrabbit Junction in Sibley, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Milford.
Baldwin had bloodshot, watery eyes and failed preliminary sobriety tests.
The vehicle was towed to the sheriff’s office in Sibley, where the Sheldon Police Department’s K-9 Balin was called upon to conduct an exterior sniff of the vehicle and indicated the odor of drugs inside.
A search warrant was obtained and executed on the vehicle. Drug-related items with residue were located in the vehicle that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
