INWOOD—A 52-year-old Sioux Falls, SD, man was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, on charge of third-offense operating while under the influence near Inwood.
The arrest of Travis Glenn Bortnem stemmed from a report a 2020 Chevrolet Aveo in a ditch along Highway 18 west of Inwood, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy found Bortnem in the vehicle.
Bortnem had bloodshot, watery eyes; slurred speech; and the odor of an alcoholic beverage, according to court documents.
An open container of Natural Light was beside him and his zipper was down and it was apparent he had urinated all over himself, according to court documents.
When the deputy said it appeared he had been drinking, Bortnem replied that he was “hammered,” according to court documents.
