HAWARDEN—A 47-year-old Sioux City man was arrested about 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, on a charge of first-offense consumption of alcohol in a public place.
The arrest of Daniel Bryan Murphy stemmed from a call about an intoxicated individual getting into a vehicle at Hawarden Regional Healthcare, according to the Hawarden Police Department.
The officer observed Murphy getting into the driver’s seat of a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic, but another person prevented him from driving away.
Murphy “was drinking large quantities from a 1-liter bottle of vodka,” according to the incident report.
He was taken into the emergency room for evaluation and was cleared and transported to the Sioux County Jail in Orange City.
Murphy was found to be wanted on two warrants from other jurisdictions.
