SIOUX CENTER—A 21-year-old Sioux Center man was arrested Saturday, Aug. 17, on charges of domestic abuse assault impeding flow of air or blood and providing false identification information.
The arrest of Carlos Romeo Bartolon Ramirez stemmed from him allegedly striking his girlfriend in the nose with his hand, causing bruising, at about 4:35 p.m. at their residence on the 100 block of First Avenue Southwest, according to the Sioux Center Police Department.
Bartolon Ramirez also pulled the woman’s hair, kicked her and stepped on her neck, impeding airflow, according to court documents.
The woman also had bruises on her arm and hand sustained from fighting with Bartolon Ramirez.
Bartolon Ramirez initially identified himself as someone else to an officer “due to being scared of the police,” according to court documents.
A no contact order was issued against Bartolon Ramirez with the woman.
