SIOUX CENTER—A 27-year-old Sioux Center man was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence.
The arrest of Mario Martin Martin stemmed from the stop of a 2005 Pontiac Sunfire for multiple traffic violations on First Avenue Northwest, according to the Sioux Center Police Department.
The officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. Martin Martin had alcohol in his vehicle, admitted he had drunk too much to be driving and failed preliminary sobriety tests.
He also was cited for driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway, failure to dim headlights and failure to have a valid driver’s license.
