SIOUX CENTER—A 23-year-old Sioux Center man was arrested about 4:20 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, on charges of first-offense possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine, driving while barred, improper rear lamps, dark window or windshield, operation without a registration card or plate, permitting operation of a vehicle while his registration was suspended, and driving while his license was denied, suspended, canceled or revoked.

The arrest of Alvaro Rodrigo Morales-Martin stemmed from the stop of a 2003 Honda Accord for traffic violations on First Avenue Northeast in Sioux Center, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

Morales-Martin was found to have meth in his pocket while being searched, according to the incident report.
