SIBLEY—A 36-year-old Sibley man was arrested about 8:10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence and possession of an open container of alcohol.

The arrest of Edwin Neftali Juarez Lopez stemmed from the stop of a 2005 Ford Taurus for speeding at the intersection of Ninth Avenue and Sixth Street Northeast in Sibley, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

He had bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage and failed preliminary sobriety tests.

Juarez Lopez admitted to drinking two 12-ounce beers, according to the incident report.
