SIBLEY—A 43-year-old Sibley man was arrested about 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, on a charge of assault on persons in certain occupations with the intent of injury.
The arrest of Joshua Lee Wills stemmed from a deputy responding to a domestic disturbance report between Wills and his girlfriend at an apartment building at 161 Maple Drive in Sibley, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Wills “became aggressive and combative” and pushed the deputy while they were at the top of a stairway and they fell together down the staircase, according to the incident report.
The deputy landed on his back with Wills on top of him.
With the assistance of a tenant of the building, the deputy was able to gain control of Wills, handcuffed him and escorted him to his patrol vehicle.
The deputy injured his back and right knee, according to the incident report.
