SHELDON—A 48-year-old Sheldon woman was arrested about 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, on charges of second-offense operating while under the influence and driving while her license was denied or revoked.
The arrest of Sonja Marion Hanks stemmed from an officer seeing her get into a 2008 Chrysler Sebring parked at Bubbles laundromat and knowing her license had been revoked, according to the Sheldon Police Department.
The officer followed the vehicle while confirming that Hanks’ license was revoked with dispatch and then pulled the car over near the intersection of Third Avenue and Highway 18.
Hanks appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic due to her erratic behavior and failed
preliminary sobriety tests, according to court documents.
