SHELDON—A 19-year-old Sheldon woman was arrested about 10:40 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, on charges of assault, disorderly conduct — fighting or violent behavior and possession of alcohol under legal age.
The arrest of Ashley Marie Delgado stemmed from a deputy witnessing an altercation in the west Casey’s parking lot in Sheldon, according to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.
Delgado ignored several verbal commands by the deputy to stop fighting and when the officer attempted to separate the two, Delgado swung and hit the other individual with a closed fist in the left side of the face, causing redness, according to court documents.
Delgado was placed on the ground and put into handcuffs.
She said the fight started because she did not like how the other person was looking at her.
The other individual declined medical treatment.
The deputy also had seen Delgado get out of a 2012 Ford Fiesta in which he could see an open bottle of Hawkeye Vodka.
Delgado admitted the vodka was hers, according to court documents.
