ASHTON—A 28-year-old Rock Valley man was arrested about 3:35 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, on a charge of first-offense operating while under the influence on the Highway 60 expressway about two miles south of Ashton.

The arrest of Edgar Manuel Ramon Zuniga stemmed from the stop of a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix for an equipment violation, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputy also had observed Ramon Zuniga of swerving. Ramon Zuniga had bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage and admitted to drinking beer. He failed preliminary field sobriety tests, according to court records.
