ROCK VALLEY—A 37-year-old Rock Valley man was arrested Monday, Oct. 7, on Sioux County warrants for first-offense possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrest of Matthew Lee Van Ginkel stemmed from an incident that occurred about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, according to the Rock Valley Police Department.
When officers attempted to serve Van Ginkel with a court order for committal, he took
a knife and went into the bathroom, according to court documents.
The officers found him was inside the bathtub with a bag of meth. A blue snort tube was lying on the floor of the bathroom.
Warrants for his arrest were issued Sept. 24.
