ROCK VALLEY—A 36-year-old Rock Valley man was arrested Saturday, Oct. 5, on a charge of first-offense operating while under the influence.
The arrest of Jason Eric Brown stemmed from an investigation into an advertising sign struck by a vehicle about 11:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at the intersection of Main Street and 14th Street in Rock Valley, according to the Rock Valley Police Department.
The vehicle, a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am, was located at the Grand Stay Hotel, where the registered owner was employed. She said Brown had been driving the vehicle.
Brown was located at his residence an admitted to consuming alcohol before driving the vehicle, according to court documents.
He had bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage and failed preliminary field sobriety tests.
