HULL—A 35-year-old Rock Valley man was arrested about 9:05 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, near Hull on a charge of second-offense operating while under the influence.

The arrest of Cody Dean Johnson stemmed from the stop of a southbound 2000 Chevrolet Malibu for erratic driving and speeding on Highway 75 at the intersection with 300th Street, about three miles northwest of Hull, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

Johnson had bloodshot, watery eyes; impaired balance and the odor of an alcoholic beverage and failed preliminary sobriety tests.

He admitted he had been at a bowling league and had consumed a couple of alcoholic drinks, according to the incident report.
