ROCK RAPIDS—Two rural Rock Rapids residents was arrested about 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, on charges of first-offense possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine, first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrest of 44-year-old Adam Curtis Nelson and 39-year-old Emilly Ann Drenth stemmed from assisting the Storm Lake Police Department with the execution of a search warrant at their residence at 2968 170th St. southwest of Rock Rapids in reference to the theft of tools, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

Meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found during the search. The paraphernalia consisted of glass smoking pipes with meth residue and burnt marijuana inside and marijuana seed grinders, according to court documents.
