ROCK RAPIDS—A 75-year-old Rock Rapids man was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 12, on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault resulting in injury or mental illness.

The arrest of John Patrick Diener stemmed from an investigation into a report from a woman that he had assaulted her about 10 p.m., according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman was found to have multiple minor injuries, according to the incident report.

A no contact order was issued against Diener with the woman.
