REGIONAL—Gov. Kim Reynolds announced additional retail closures today (Thursday, March 26) as part of Iowa’s State Public Health Emergency Declaration, a measure aimed at preventing spread of the coronavirus.

Starting at 10 p.m., the following retail establishments have to close until April 7:

  • Beauty/cosmetic/perfume stores
  • Bookstores
  • Clothing stores
  • Florists
  • Furniture/home furnishing stores
  • Jewelry stores
  • Luggage stores
  • Shoe stores

There are more than 170 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Iowa, including two in N'West Iowa. Both of those cases are in Sioux County. Additionally, a student who attends Dordt University in Sioux Center also has tested positive for the virus.
