ALTON—A 33-year-old Paullina man was arrested about 9:20 p.m. Monday, April 5, near Alton on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence and failure to provide proof of vehicle liability insurance.
The arrest of Logan Michael Bigley stemmed from the stop of a 2000 Buick Le Sabre for a faulty headlight at the intersection of Highway 10 and Kingbird Avenue about a mile east of Alton, according to the Orange City Police Department.
The officer observed one open Budweiser beer can and one unopened Budweiser beer can in the center console and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage.
Bigley had bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage and failed preliminary sobriety tests, according to the incident report.
He also admitted to having three beers since 5 p.m., including one right before driving.
