SHELDON—A 23-year-old Orange City man was cited about 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 18, near Sheldon on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
The citing of James Connor Holcomb stemmed from the stop of a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado on the 4800 mile of 350th Street about two miles south of Sheldon, according to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.
Holcomb was extremely nervous and shaking and had an item in his pocket that resembled the shape of a handgun, according to court documents.
During a pat search Holcomb was found in possession of a hand-held torch.
He gave consent to search his vehicle and in plain view on top of the center console was a butane torch tip with burned residue.
Holcomb admitted he used the butane torch tip to smoke marijuana earlier that morning, according to court documents.
