SIOUX CENTER—A 19-year-old Omaha, NE, resident was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, in Sioux Center on charges of first-offense possession of a controlled substance — cocaine and possession/purchase of alcohol under age.

The arrest of Marcos Granillo-Sanchez stemmed from an investigation of an assault on the 400 block of First Avenue Northwest, according to the Sioux Center Police Department.

Granillo-Sanchez had bloodshot, watery eyes; impaired balance; slurred speech; and the odor of an alcoholic beverage.

A small bag of cocaine was found on the ground nearby and Granillo-Sanchez admitted to possession of it, according to the incident report.
