SIOUX CENTER—No injuries were reported when a vehicle struck a hog confinement about 4:50 p.m. Thursday Nov. 28, on Hickory Avenue, two miles northeast of Sioux Center.
Twenty-two-year-old Tania Hernandez was driving north when she lost control of her 2013 Ford Edge, which entered the west ditch and struck a North West REC electrical utility pole and a hog confinement building, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
Hernandez was cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle and no motor vehicle liability insurance.
Her vehicle received an estimated $15,000 damage. The utility pole received an estimated $1,500 damage. The building received an estimated $25,000 damage.
