SIBLEY—A 29-year-old South Sioux City, NE, man was arrested Monday, Aug. 12, on an Osceola County warrant for first-offense possession of controlled substance — marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while his license is denied, suspended, canceled or revoked.
The arrest of Joseph Dennis Garlic stemmed from a deputy making contact with Garlic in a county lot in Sibley as he appeared to be lost about 9 p.m. Dec. 12, 2017, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Garlic admitted he did not have a driver’s license and that he was in possession of marijuana and a marijuana pipe, which were found inside his 2005 Pontiac Bonneville. The marijuana was sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Criminalistics Laboratory in Ankeny.
A warrant for his arrest was issued Sept. 10, 2018.
Garlic was picked up from the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids.
