SHELDON—Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon is hosting the annual NW Iowa Visual Arts Show virtually on the NCC website opening Friday, May 22.
Each high school student may submit two works of art up to a total of 30 pieces per school. All submitted artwork is original and executed by individual artists.
There are five categories for submissions:
- Digital Art/Photography.
- Mixed Media.
Art submissions are due by Friday, May 8.
First-, second- and third-place awards will be given in each category.
First-, second- and third-place awards also will be awarded per school at the art teacher’s discretion.
Students also will have the option of completing hands-on activities from prerecorded videos featured on the website.
The following N’West Iowa high schools have been invited to participate: Boyden-Hull, Central Lyon, George-Little Rock, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, MMCRU, MOC-Floyd Valley, Netherlands Reformed, Okoboji, Remsen St. Mary’s, Rock Valley, Sheldon, Sibley-Ocheyedan, Sioux Center, South O’Brien, Trinity Christian, Unity Christian, West Lyon, West Sioux and Western Christian.
