LARCHWOOD—A 48-year-old Havelock man was arrested Wednesday, May 27, on charges of third-offense operating while under the influence, first-degree harassment and disorderly conduct — loud or raucous noise.
The arrest of Douglas Neil Mutchler stemmed a report about 1:10 a.m. regarding a drunk motorcyclist driving around in the yard of a residence, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
When authorities called her back, the resident said Mutchler had parked his motorcycle. However, the resident called again about 1:20 a.m. to say Mutchler had threatened to burn her house down and she could smell gas.
The first deputy on the seen could hear a motorcycle being revved and found Mutchler getting off the motorcycle.
Mutchler was hostile with the deputy and backup was called for as the deputy pointed a Taser at Mutchler, according to court documents.
Once Mutchler calmed down, he admitted he was riding the motorcycle and being loud and blaring the music just to upset the resident.
He also told authorities he is a member of a motorcycle gang and he is “going to call them and they are going to come take care of this,” according to court documents.
A no contact order was issued against Mutchler, who stands about 6 feet, 4 inches and weighs about 250 pounds, with the resident, described as “a small elderly lady.”
